What is learning and development strategy?

Learning and development (L&D) strategy is an organizational strategy that articulates the workforce capabilities, skills or competencies required, and how these can be developed, to ensure a sustainable, successful organization and that sets out the means of developing these capabilities to underpin organizational effectiveness.

Our recent research has emphasized the importance of strategic human resource management aligning to the overall business strategy.

The L&D strategy should reflect and reinforce the approach within the broader HRM strategy and also link with other strategies (for example, reward).

When developing strategy, it’s useful to adopt the increasingly financial and operational language of business, particularly to get the language of L&D understood in the wider business. With good financial and operational ‘savvy’, L&D can also challenge decisions, where appropriate, that risk damaging organizational value and employee engagement.

A key element of an organization’s learning strategy will target the long-term development of those identified as exceptionally high-performing or high-potential individuals (sometimes defined as ‘talent’), who are critical to long-term business success. This typically includes techniques such as mentoring programs with senior leaders, in-house development courses and project-based learning. SHRD has planned to pore the seeds in the educational structure of Pakistan while giving skills and competencies based training to the Teachers especially in the rural and remote areas, where teachers are even not punctual and responsible with their profound profession. Students are not taking reasonable interest due to conservative, old and unprofessional syllabus. More often the behavior and the attitude of the teachers insist the students to avoid or bunk the school/class.

These are the major factors which are not giving the chance to Pakistan to promote its literacy rate particularly in the backward and villager’s areas.

We aim to promote teachers with enhancing their skills and competencies to enable them to standardize the way of teaching with advancement and effective communication skills.

Effective Communication Skills: We hear, we forget. We see, we remember and we do, we understand.

Without advancement of education and its tools the country, estate and the society cannot improve its structure and way of living. They always be considered as third world people due to their own weaknesses that would lead a discrimination with them by the rest of the world they are dealing with.

For the success of the society the improvement of education is a fundamental and basic tool to opt at first.

SHRD has great interest to improving the structure of education in Pakistan while seeking the help from the other developed segments of the world.
