Advocacy Campaign

Advocacy is the act of supporting a cause or issue to achieve a desired result. It is action directed at changing policies, positions or programs.

Identify the issue
Problems can be very complex, and selection of an advocacy issue must be based on well-researched information.

Set goals and objectives
The goal or vision is a general statement of what you hope to achieve with the campaign.
The objectives should state specifically what needs changing, who is responsible, how much change is required, and by when it is required. The usual time frame for an advocacy objective is 1-3 years.

Identify your primary target audience
Identify the primary audience, i.e. the decision-makers with the authority to directly affect the outcome of your objectives.
Identify the secondary audience i.e. individuals and groups that can influence the decision-makers.

Shape your message
The message should be a concise and persuasive statement about your advocacy goal or vision that says what you want to achieve, why, and how.
The content, language, medium, and the time and place of delivery of the message, are important considerations.
Build support
It is necessary to build networks of supportive individuals or organizations and to work together in a co-ordinate way.
Design a fundraising strategy
A targeted fundraising strategy must be designed at the beginning of your campaign.
Implement the campaign
Deliver the message.
Be innovative and persistent.

Evaluate the campaign
Always evaluate the content, process, impact and outcome of your campaign, in accordance with your stated goal and objectives.
Change strategies if necessary.

Women’s Empowerment Principles

Empowering women to participate fully in economic life across all sectors is essential to build stronger economies, achieve internationally agreed goals for development and sustainability, and improve the quality of life for women, men, families and communities.

The private sector is a key partner in efforts to advance gender equality and empower women. Current research demonstrating that gender diversity helps businesses perform better signals that self-interest and common interest can come together. Yet, ensuring the inclusion of women’s talents, skills and energies—from executive offices to the factory floor and the supply chain—requires intentional actions and deliberate policies.

  • Establish high-level corporate leadership for gender equality
  • Treat all women and men fairly at work—respect and support human rights and nondiscrimination
  • Ensure the health, safety and well-being of all women and men workers
  • Promote education, training and professional development for women
  • Implement enterprise development, supply chain and marketing practices that empower women
  • Promote equality through community initiatives and advocacy
  • Measure and publicly report on progress to achieve gender equality.

Subtitled Equality Means Business, the Principles emphasize the business case for corporate action to promote gender equality and women’s empowerment and are informed by real-life business practices and input gathered from across the globe. They also reflect the interests of governments and civil society and serve to support interactions among stakeholders, as achieving gender equality requires the participation of all actors at all levels.

Women empowerment through entrepreneurship:

Women are regarded as better half of the society. In traditional Pakistan societies, they were confined to four walls. In modern society, they come out of four walls to participate in all types of activities including entrepreneurship. In SHRD  point of view empowering women through entrepreneurship has become an integral part of our development efforts because of 3 important reasons; i). Women development, ii). Economic growth and iii). Social stability.

Present study is conducted to analyze the contribution by women-entrepreneurs in economic development of nation and also to find out the current problems, which they are facing in their businesses. In present study it is found that this enterprise is appropriate for those women entrepreneurs who are having problem to outside home due to family responsibility or their culture. They can start this venture inside their home. While promoting their economical budget and to upgrading the family by fulfilling children basic needs.
